The workshops will be held in room BIOL 1012 of the University of British Columbia Biological Sciences building, located at 6270 University Boulevard, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z4.
Transportation To/From Vancouver
By Air
Vancouver International Airport (YVR)
Air Canada and many US carriers provide direct flights to Vancouver. Vancouver airport is located south of the city about 12 km from downtown Vancouver, and is readily accessible.
To get to the University fo British Columbia:

Public transit: Translink, Vancouver’s public transit, operates the Canada Line: Vancouver’s rapid transit rail link connecting YVR to downtown Vancouver in 26 minutes. Canada Line runs every seven minutes from YVR-Airport station during peak hours and every 15 minutes during off-peak hours. From either Oakridge or Langara station, you can transfer to a bus bound for UBC - more details on these trips and fares are here.

Limousine/Taxi service: Taxis are also a quick and easy way to get to and from Vancouver International Airport. Fares to UBC are a flat rate of $42 and trips take between 30-60 minutes.

Ridehares: Lyft, Uber, and KABU are authorized rideshare providers. Fares vary based on a variety of factors.
By Car
This will of course depend on where you are driving from. UBC parking information is available here.
Accommodations
On-Campus:
- Gage Suites: Signature Studio from $340 CAD/night. Recommended
- Carey Centre: Various room types, from a standard Queen room to a two-bedroom apartment, starting at $230 CAD/night. A good option for group stays.
- Pacific Spirit Hostel: A more affordable choice, offering single and twin rooms from $85 CAD/night.
Off-Campus:
- Holiday Inn Vancouver-Centre (Broadway): Multiple room options starting at $218 CAD/night. Central location in Vancouver with easy access to public transit. Direct bus to campus [99 UBC B-line or 009 UBC]
There are additional options in Downtown Vancouver; however, transportation to campus can be inconvenient or unreliable. Please ensure there are reliable way to get to campus from your location. Other accommodations can be found through Tourism Vancouver.
Meals
A light breakfast and snacks will be provided. You are responsible for your own lunch and dinner arrangements. There is dining on UBC campus, as well as numerous local restaurants and pubs.
Workshop Schedule
The workshop will begin daily at 8:30am and conclude between 5-6pm but may run as late as 8pm. Workshop schedules are available on the student tutorial site.
